Census of Franklin Township. His first wife was Malinda (Combs) Gillen who is
buried in this cemetery. He also married Mary J. Heath, widow of Edwin Heath,
28 Mar 1866. She is listed as Willis Y. Gillen's wife in the 1870 census,
along with several children from Willis Y. Gillen's marriage to Malinda and
several Heath children from her earlier marriage to Edwin Heath. |

Malinda Gillen |
First
wife of Willis Y. Gillen. Nee Malinda Combs, not sure who her parents were.
She is on the monolith of Willis Y. Gillen and has a separate tablet stone to
the south of that stone. The information is the same on both stones, except
the monolith lists her age at death as 53 years, but the tablet stone says
she was 43 when she died. Based on information in census records, it appears
she was more likely 53 when she died. |
