Monroe Township Putnam County Indiana: Records copied from tombstones in the Graves family burial
plot, about ½ mile west and ½ or ¼ mile south of Bainbridge Indiana, south and west of the old Daniel
Thornton residence, now occupied by Howard Hostetter and family on land entered by Peter Graves, 1824
(See Putnam County Records.)
This little plot is atop a hill that is easily seen from the N & S road 1 mile west of Bainbridge, but is so
overgrown with underbrush, that it is difficult to locate except by one who is familiar with the place. No
stones are standing, and some are almost buried under soil and leaves.
