Directions:
Go five miles north of Greencastle on US 36 to Somerset Church. Go west of the Somerset Church on Co Rd 500N for two miles. Just before 500N Y’s there is a two story house on the north side of the road. The cemetery is located about 1/4 mile due north of house, at the north edge of a cultivated field. Go north of the house through a pasture to a gate in the northeast corner. There is a cultivated field north and east of the gate. Go due north of the gate to the end of the field. There is a twenty foot strip of woods at the north end of the field before the ground drops off into the ravine. The tombstones are piled up along an old fence just before the ground drops off to the north, under a medium sized walnut tree and along the old fence. There are two legible stones, and several fragments. The stones were likely south of their current location in the field and have been piled up here.
Condition: Poor
There are two legible stones at the precipice of a ravine at the edge of a field. There is also a top piece that doesn’t fit these two stones that looks like a lamb, like the top of a child’s stone. There are likely more stones in the area. It looks like the stones were originally in the field nearby and have been moved to current location. There are a few briars and such near the stones that need to be mowed. After that, the area should be searched for more stones.
